Getting Started with Catboard
How to sign in to Catboard and what to expect when you start using it on Cat Food Central.
Signing in to Catboard
Catboard currently supports signing in with a Gmail or Google Workspace account only. If you have a Google account, you can sign in right away. If not, see the section below for instructions.
Ways to open Catboard
Catboard can be opened from several places around the site. Wherever you start from, you'll see the same sign-in or sign-up prompt.
Site Header
A Catboard button in the top right of every page opens the sign-in prompt.
Product Pages
On product pages where a Watch button is available, clicking it as a guest opens the sign-in prompt.
Homepage
The Catboard section on the homepage includes a button that opens the sign-in prompt.
Search
Opening the search modal shows a prompt to sign in for advanced search, which opens the same flow.
The button on the homepage adapts depending on whether you're signed in. You might see "Sign up," "Log in," or "Open my Catboard" depending on your current status. These aren't different features, just different labels for the same entry point.
After you sign in
Once you're signed in, the Catboard button in the top right opens a sidebar on the right side of the site. It doesn't open automatically, so you can continue browsing as usual and open it whenever you like.
If you're new to Catboard, you'll see an option to add a cat, along with a Watched Foods area. This area includes guidance suggesting that you watch foods from product pages and add your cats so you can receive alerts when a watched food's score changes.
Don't have a Google account?
