Why price isn't part of the score
CFC's scoring methodology is based purely on ingredients and guaranteed analysis - never price. A cheaper food and a more expensive food are scored exactly the same way, based only on what's actually in the bag. This is intentional: it keeps the score an honest reflection of nutritional quality, not a proxy for cost.
